Dear Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service,

During the year 2013/2014 there were 220 emergency call-outs from West Kirby Fire Station.

Please provide the following information:

(a) The minimum number, and grades, of staff required at West Kirby Fire Station before a fire engine can be sent to an emergency;

(b) The number of days (including parts of days), in 2013/2014, when West Kirby Fire Station did not have the minimum number, and grades, of staff required to send a fire engine to an emergency; and

(c) The number of occasions, during 2013/2014, when fire engines, from other fire stations on the Wirral, responded to fires in the West Kirby area, as a result of the inability of the West Kirby fire engine to respond, as a result of understaffing at West Kirby Fire Station.

Yours faithfully,

Alan Rundle
