Thank you for your Freedom of Information (FoI) request received on 9 June 2014. You asked:  
 
Please provide all guidance, information and memos in relation to a situation where a JSA 
claimant fails to apply for or accept a job. 
Please also provide the above information with regard to a UC claimant 
 
The Regulation requiring Jobseeker’s Allowance claimants to apply for suitable employment 
vacancies is Regulation 19(1)(d) of the Jobseeker’s Allowance Regulations 1995.  This is 
available via the DWP Website at the following internet address:

The action to be taken when there is a doubt as to whether this requirement has been met can 
be found in generic guidance in Annex 1 and guidance specifically tailored to Universal 
Jobmatch vacancies in Annex 2.  Both of which are attached.
