20 year study in to health impact of CSG Sandhurst fire

We're waiting for Mike Overthrow to read recent responses and update the status.

Dear Gloucestershire County Council,

Following the CSG Chemical works fire in Sandhurst in 2000 a 20 year study in to the health effects of the fire was ordered. Please provide me with the following information regarding the study:

1. How much time and budget has been spent on this research on an annual basis since it began?
2. Please provide me with a copy of the latest available copy of the research and analysis
3. How often has the research been reviewed and updated since launching?
4. Could you confirm the research will continue for the agreed initial 20 year period?
5. The research focuses on a wide cohort area with, to my understanding, no separate close analysis of the impact on those residents closest to the fire, and subsequent smoke. Given the prevalence of cancers associated with chemical exposure many of these residents closest to the fire have now begun experiencing since the council's last public statement on the research in 2011 will there now be further analysis of a smaller cohort area? If not, why not.
6. As mentioned above, the council's last statement on the research was in 2011, as far as I'm aware. The 6 years since have seen a rise in cancers in the area in Sandhurst closest to the fire and smoke. Will the council be issuing an updated statement regarding their latest analysis?
7. Have any victims of the fire and smoke received compensation from Gloucestershire County Council?
8. Given the fact that many of the cancers and illnesses related to the chemicals illegally housed at CSG at the time of the fire can take many years to develop, will the research study continue beyond the 20 year period?

Yours faithfully,
Mike Overthrow
