20 : 40 Rule - Criminal Records

We're waiting for James Gilmour to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear Police Scotland,

With regards to the retention of criminal records under the 20:40 rule. What actually happens to the record when it has been weeded?

Is it actually deleted or does it stay on file somewhere?

Yours faithfully,

James
