Dear University of Dundee,

Please can you provide me with:
1) The lowest/minimum UCAT score accepted into the A100 course for the previous 3 cycles
2) How the personal statement is used to differentiate between applicants and if a scale is used, can you please explain this
3) How work experience is used to invite applicants to interviews
4) Whether AS grades are going to be a factor into inviting applicants for interviews for 2021 entry as due to COVID19 they was not able to sit their exams.

Dear Miss Begum,
Thank you for your request for information from the University of Dundee.
Please accept my apologies that it has taken our team a little while to
get back to you. Colleagues provide data in response to your questions
below.
1) The lowest/minimum UCAT score accepted into the A100 course for the
previous 3 cycles?
Data represents:
1. Minimum UCAT score invited for interview for both non-contextual and
contextual applicants.
2. Minimum UCAT score offered a place for both non-contextual and
contextual applicants.
2) How the personal statement is used to differentiate between applicants
and if a scale is used, can you please explain this?
3) How work experience is used to invite applicants to interviews?
4) Whether AS grades are going to be a factor into inviting applicants for
interviews for 2021 entry as due to COVID19 they was not able to sit their
exams.
The University combines an Academic Score (based on certified and
predicted grades and contextual factors) and UCAT score. These scores were
weighted 60:40 Academic:UCAT for non-graduates and 40:60 Academic:UCAT for
graduates. We use the UCAT score by categorising the applicants in deciles
of UCAT performance. More information about the UCAT can be found at
[1]https://www.ucat.ac.uk/. Applications submitted without the UCAT test
will not be considered.

Relevant work experience is also essential, we encourage up to two weeks
of medically-related work or shadowing experience. We also look at
extra-curricular activities, such as sports, hobbies, part-time work,
volunteering, etc. which can demonstrate high motivation, commitment,
social contribution, and strong communication and leadership skills.

All applications must be submitted through UCAS by the deadline. All
applications are considered on an individual basis, and I must highlight
that simply meeting the entry criteria does not guarantee an offer of
interview or place at Dundee University.
I trust that this is the information you require.

Kind regards,

Alan
