20170626_AFCS_Mental_Disorders_Interim_Awards_Removal_from_Military_Environment

The request was refused by Ministry of Defence.

Mr Terence Roberts

Dear Ministry of Defence,

1. With reference to the implementation of the Armed Forces Compensation Act by the MOD and Veterans UK:

a. With regard to AFCS Interim Awards for Mental Disorders, what specific medical guidance/research/publications does Veterans UK use in order to support the justification for awarding an Interim Award on the grounds that "once removed from the military environment, improvement could reasonably be expected"?

b. In total, how many Interim Awards for Mental Disorders have been issued with a "REASONS FOR DECISION" stating within the "Further Information" section that "once removed from the military environment, improvement could reasonably be expected"?

If a search of electronic records for the duration of the AFCS's implementation is not feasible (such as using a free text search to analyse all documents held for the phrase/similar phrase) and a manual search must be completed, then please focus on the period 2014/2017.

Yours faithfully,

Mr T. Roberts
