Thank you for your emails dated 13 March 2019 and 11 April 2019 requesting
information from the University of Warwick.  Your request has been
considered under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.  Please find below

We do not hold a record of which programmes were open by year.  We have,
however, attached a list of all of the postgraduate programmes that
received an application for the years requested (Question 1 - Courses by
Year.xlsx).

 

2.       Number of applicants

 

We received 33,985 full time postgraduate applications in 2018/19, 29,944
in 2017/18 and 25,806 in 2016/17.

 

3.       Number of interviews ( if applicable)

 

Section 1(1) (a) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 imposes a duty on
public authorities to inform the requester whether or not the information
requested is held.  The University can confirm that it does not hold the
requested information.

 

4.       Number of offers made

 

We made 12,181 offers for full time postgraduate study in 2018/19, 11,668
in 2017/18 and 10,659 in 2016/17.

 

5.       Number of Chinese applications and offers made (Business
Programs, Mathematics Programs, separately)

subjects for programmes in Warwick Mathematics Institute (WMI) and Warwick
Business School (WBS) (Question 8 - Subjects by Year.xlsx).

 

9.       Offer holders' bachelor degree average academic
performance(Business Programs, Mathematics Programs, separately)

 

We receive applications from individuals who have studied at institutions
in various countries, which use different grading systems/scales such as
GPAs on a scale of 4, 7 or 10, percentages, or letter/numeric grades. At
the point we are coding offers, we will record our assessment of how the
applicant’s grades equate to the UK classification system – the average
classification achieved by our offer holders is shown in the table below.
Please note that individual offer holders may hold multiple previous
qualifications.

10.   Offer holders' minimum entry grades in terms of academic performance
(Business Programs, Mathematics Programs, separately)

 

Warwick’s minimum academic standard for taught postgraduate courses is a
lower second class honours degree (or equivalent). For research programmes
it is an upper second class honours degree (or equivalent). Course
specific entry requirements are published on our study pages annually.
Where course-specific entry requirements are higher than Warwick’s minimum
standard, the course-specific requirement must be achieved. Applicants who
do not possess an academic qualification which meets or exceeds the
standard required for their chosen course of study may, in some
disciplines, still be considered for admission on the basis of
substantial, relevant work experience, professional training or mitigating
circumstances affecting their performance in previous qualifications. The
admission of such candidates is subject to the approval of the Chair of
the Board of Graduate Studies upon the recommendation of the appropriate
Course Selector.

 

11.   Offer holders' universities attended for bachelor degree (Business
Programs, Mathematics Programs, separately)

 

Attached is a list of institutions attended by our offer holders for each
of the years requested, with separate tabs showing just the degree
subjects for programmes in Warwick Mathematics Institute (WMI) and Warwick
Business School (WBS) (Question 11 - Institutions by Year.xlsx). Please
note that individual offer holders may have attended multiple previous
institutions, and multiple offer holders may have attended each of the
institutions listed.
