Finance.FOI Requests, University College London

Dear Kai Chen,

Thank you for your below request for information.

Could you please provide the following clarification:-

1. List of all postgraduate taught courses for 2016/2017,2017/2018, 2018/2019

The list of programmes currently offered is on the UCL website. We don’t record the programmes that have been offered in previous years. We can provide the list of programmes which received applications in any given year - is this what you are looking for?

2. Number of applicants

Do you mean in total? – or just for PGT? – do you need this broken down by programme?

4. Number of offers made

See (2) above

5. Number of Chinese applications and offers made (Business Programs, Mathematics Programs, separately)

What do you mean by Chinese? Is China PR domiciled acceptable?

10. Offer holders' minimum entry grades in terms of academic performance (Business Programs, Mathematics Programs, separately)

Could you let me know whether you just want to know what the offers would be? If so, each programme has a webpage listing the entry requirements. Additionally we cannot know what the you mean by “Business”, “Mathematics” etc., unless you can be course specific, we will work with the hierarchies we have internally.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,

Dear Finance.FOI Requests,

Thanks for your email. I am sorry for making you confused about the request. I would like to explain it in terms of the point you mentioned above.

1, 2 and 4: Yes, I hope to see the list of applications and offers received for the breakdown of all PGT from 2016-2019.

5: Yes, I am looking for the data specifically for China PR domiciled

10: In terms of the minimum entry grades, I refer to the offer made with the lowest academic performance based on the UK academic transcript standard. e.g. 60 or 62.

To avoid the misunderstanding of programmes, could you please provide the data for all MSc and MA courses by breakdown from 2016-2018? Thank you very much!

Yours sincerely,

KAI CHEN

As you can see, exact counts of five or less have been withheld because
these are personal data of third parties or, if linked with other personal
identifiers in the public domain, would be likely to become personal data.
This information has been withheld under section 40(2) of the FOIA by

Section 40(2) of the FOIA allows a public authority to withhold

of this personal data would not be within the reasonable expectations of
the individuals concerned and it would be unfair to do so; this therefore
breaches the first data protection principle.
