HS2 Consultations

Hi Ken

Further to our recent discussion over the future consideration of HS2 consultations, I discussed this with Cllr Davis
last week and he does not see that OSMB Members would not want to let go of the consideration of HS2
consultations given their importance and impact on Solihull residents. However, after further discussion, he
accepted the point that the way we consider these matters currently involves a lot of duplication.

He therefore suggested that instead of OSMB holding a full blown Scrutiny event based solely around HS2, the Board
would simply receive the minutes from the HS2 Working Party meeting that had considered the consultation, if the
timetable fits, at one of its ordinary scheduled meetings.

Following a brief discussion with Walter this morning, for completeness, an invitation could be extended to OSMB
Members to attend the Working Party meeting.

Before taking this to the wider OSMB Membership, what do you think?

Regards
