Thank you for your information request, reference number NELC/28381/2324.
I can confirm that North East Lincolnshire Council holds the following
information:

 1. How many 16 and 17 year old looked after children is your local
authority responsible for currently?

 2. How many 16 and 17 year old looked after children in your local
authority are currently placed out of area?

22

 3. How many 16 and 17 year old looked after children were accommodated in
spot purchased placements (off framework/contracted arrangements) in
the 22/23 financial year?

There were 31 children aged 16 and 17 accommodated in off framework
provision on 31st March 2023. Our recording system does not enable a more
accurate answer to the question asked.

 4. What was the cost of placements/supported accommodation for 16- and
17-year-olds per week for the 22/23 financial year?

a) lowest cost - £249.50

b) highest cost - £17198

c) average cost - £2201.13

All of these answers are given on the data for 31st March 2023.

5) Are there sufficient placements in your local authority area for 16-
and 17-year-old looked after children who have a high level of complex
needs?

Some 16- and 17-year-olds are residing out of county as their needs cannot
be met locally.
