REQUEST UNDER THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000
Further to your enquiry, which we received on 09 July 2013, you requested the following
information:
1) The total number of alcohol related admissions of people aged between 18 and
25 at Hereford hospital:
Please could these figures be broken down by year for 2011, 2012 and 2013 up
to July 9.
If possible, could the figures for each year be broken down into gender.
If possible, could the figures for 2013 also be broken down by month.
2) The total number of drug related admissions of people aged between 18 and 25
at Hereford hospital:
Please could these figures be broken down by year for 2011, 2012 and 2013 up
to July 9.
If possible, could the figures for each year be broken down into gender.
If possible, could the figures for 2013 also be broken down by month.
3) The total number of a) drug related and b) alcohol related admissions to
Hereford hospital for those under the age of 18.

Response
Since August 2011 the Trust has been experiencing issues with the quality of data stored
within our clinical data systems. This is due to software issues and the Trust has been
working to rectify this. A sample of these records were manually validated and this showed
that the quality of the data was poor therefore we are unable to provide a true figure from our
current system for August 2011 to present.
For all our Trust performance reports all records are now manually validated to cleanse the
data prior to reporting. However as 64,146 cases would take an in proportionate amount of
time to cleanse we are currently unable to provide you with a true figure for 2012.
