Hi Iain

Mainly to do with any future possible funding application to the council  as inevitably the business plan etc will come across my desk for review, analysis and recommendation.

Can you say what the conflict of interest may be as unless it is something like you joining the DFA or DHT we should keep you?

Morning Iain

Sorry I can’t do Friday’s – note there is an agenda point  for the next meeting in relationship to the chair as I may have to relinquish this roll due to a future conflict of interest.  The agenda point will consider whether both parties still wish it to be chaired impartially or for the chair to alternate. (Or possible other options to be explored)

Regards

Richard

Good question Richard. There has been some discussion on our side about manning these meetings during the week as fishing hours may compromise our ability to get a team out. Peter will be back at sea by August and David will hopefully be recovered from injury and back as well.

Typically, fishermen don't work on Friday nights unless the weather has been poor during the week and they need to catch-up. It's a big ask for the DHT lads and yourself but what do you think about moving to Fridays instead?

Thanks for this – How does either  Thursday 2nd or Tuesday  7th August fit with peoples diaries for the next meeting?

Richard/Stuart
I've been asked to communicate that our members are in favour of the plan to join forces to help police the harbour. This was first up on Thursdays meeting agenda but as we've had to postpone we felt it would be useful to let you know before August's meeting.

We understand this will mean that volunteers would wear some sort of badge and approach people who allow their dogs to foul the harbour, who feed the seagulls, park illegally etc plus there would be proper support to ensure their effectiveness. Our volunteers would want a proper briefing/training of their role and responsibilities plus what the escalation procedure will be.

Stuart: Would you want to set up a sub-committee to plan and implement or how do you suggest we proceed? Please advise and I'll organise our people.

Kind Regards

Iain Maddox

Secretary
