Dear Mr Pearsall,

Freedom of Information Request (Case 27892)

Thank you for your e-mail of 11 June 2013, in which you asked what arrangements the
Home Secretary, has made to ensure that a child's emotional welfare is protected. Your
request has been handled as a request for information under the Freedom of Information
Act 2000 and can be found in full in the attached annex.

We have considered your request and we believe it to be vexatious. Section 14(1) of the
Act provides that the Home Office is not obliged to comply with a request for information of
this nature.

If you are dissatisfied with this response you may request an independent internal review
of our handling of your request by submitting a complaint within two months to the address
below, quoting reference 27892. If you ask for an internal review, it would be helpful if you
could say why you are dissatisfied with the response.

(1)The Secretary of State must make arrangements for ensuring that:

(a) the functions mentioned in subsection (2) are discharged having regard to the need
to safeguard and promote the welfare of children who are in the United Kingdom,

(b) any services provided by another person pursuant to arrangements which are made
by the Secretary of State and relate to the discharge of a function mentioned in
subsection (2) are provided having regard to that need.

So, as outlined in Sec 55 as one of Mrs May's key responsibilities......what arrangements
has she made to ensure that a child's emotional welfare is protected?
