Thank you for your e-mail of 16 November to the Department for Communities and Local
Government, requesting:
’Could you please provide me with the number of Home Inspectors that are currently registered with an
accreditation scheme and practising and the number of Home Inspectors that are currently registered with an
accreditation scheme and not practising. Could you also provide me with the number of Domestic Energy
Assessors that are currently registered with an accreditation scheme and practising and the number of
Domestic Energy Assessors that are currently registered with an accreditation scheme and not practising.’

I can confirm that the Department for Communities and Local Government does hold the
information that you have requested and that I am able to provide you with the following
information. We can provide the number of domestic energy assessors by the status of
their accreditation and the type of energy assessor. These figures are provided as of
19/11/2012. We will provide this in the text of this letter.
I should caution on the accuracy of this information as the Department for Communities
and Local Government relies on this information being submitted by Accreditation
Schemes and cannot confirm its completeness or accuracy.
