For the security vetting/accreditation procedure carried out for the 
Conservative Party Conference 2012, please can you list the number of people 

1)  Applied to be accredited…. = 9,403  
2)  ...and were then approved by the police 
= 9,307 
     3) ...but who the police recommended be refused entry... = 3 
     a) ...and the party permitted entry anyway
 = 0 
     b) ...and the party did not permit entry = 3  
     4) ...but did not complete the process... 
     a) ...because the police did not complete the process in time = 0 
     b) ...because the individual did not complete the process. (e.g. documents 
still pending by conference date, or they explicitly withdrew) 
The outstanding 73 applications are due to them being either void (i.e. error in 
submission or a duplicate) or cancelled (i.e. no longer required as not attending) 
For each of the above, please break down if possible the number of people 
who applied by category, e.g. Members/Party Staff, Media, Exhibitors etc.
All figures are for are party 'delegates' i.e. not ancillary staff/venue workforce.  
   5) Please also supply: 
   a) The actual or estimated cost of the vetting process. 
 As the National Accreditation Team hosted by GMP provide the accreditation service 
to all of the Conferences, these figures represent the overall cost for all three 
Conferences and not just the Conservative Party Conference held in Birmingham.  
In addition the figures shown represent the estimated cost as outlined in the initial bid 
to the Home Office as we are still reconciling our accounts.

b) The source of funding for this process 
The cost of Accreditation is funded by the Home Office.
