PUBLIC NOTICE: 
THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984   
THE A40 GLA ROAD (LONDON BOROUGH OF 
HILLINGDON) (50 M.P.H. SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2012 
1.  Transport for London, hereby gives notice that on 29th June 2012 it made the 
above named Order under section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.  
The Order comes into force on 9th July 2012. 
2.  The general nature and effect of the Order would be to impose a speed limit of 50 
m.p.h. on – 
(1)  That part of the main carriageway of the eastbound A40 Western Avenue 
from a point just west of the eastbound entry slip road from Long Lane to a 
point west of the Polish War Memorial Roundabout; 
(2)  The eastbound entry slip road from Long Lane to the A40. 
3.  The roads affected by the Order are indicated in paragraph 2.  
4.  The roads affected are currently subject to a speed limit of 70 m.p.h.  
5.  A copy of the Order, a map indicating the location and effect of the Order and 
copies of any Order revoked, suspended or varied by the Order can be inspected 
during normal office hours at the offices of:

6.  Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions 
on the grounds that they are not within the relevant powers conferred by the Act 
or that any requirement of the Act has not been complied with, that person may, 
within six weeks from the date on which the Order is made, make application for 
the purpose to the High Court.
