REQUEST FOR INFORMATION
Reference: FOI11-393R
Dear Dr Thornton
I am writing regarding your request for a review of the response sent to you on
25 April 2012.
Your information request was handled by Sebastian Jew. I was appointed to
carry out an independent review of the response as a senior executive not
involved in the original decision.
You had requested that we disclose all information held relating to
the
consideration of a deep bored tunnel development at that location and estimates
of the amount of spoil that will need to be relocated in the course of constructing
the line over the same section of track as it is currently proposed.
After reviewing the case, my findings are that we do not hold the information
requested; both for the consideration of the deep bored tunnel development and
the estimates of the soil that would be needed to be relocated.
The route announced by the Secretary of State is based on concept design and
detailed work as you requested was not undertaken.
If you are not satisfied with this response you have the right to contact the
Information Commissioner. Please see annex A for full details of our complaint
procedures.
