10 Years long residence count time period vicky

Dear Home Office,
Sir, I want to ask u about 10 years long residence application
Q1= I enter uk may 15th 2006 on student visa.my visa issue date April 4th 2006 so which date
I should start count my 10 years .may 15th or April 4th?I m on still tier 4 till June 2016.
Q2= I read 10 year immigration rules but I can not find about derivative leave(EEA) application.
Mean if some applied derivative leave and got rejected with right of Appel so section 3c or 3D still count in 10 year ?
Q3= if I make my 10 years application more than 28 day before so can I get chance for Appel or can I make second time 10 years application?
I hope get ans asap.
