Dear Mr Barry,

ENVIRONMENTAL INFORMATION REGULATIONS 2004 – INFORMATION REQUEST

Thank you for your request for information received by the Council on 10th February 2012.  We are
considering it under the Environmental Information Regulations Act 2004. It has been assessed and
the following information is provided in response:

Could you please supply me with a copy of all correspondence between your authority and the
following bodies with regard to

a)  the effect on road congestion and

b)  b) any active measures taken in the borough to tackle congestion due to the

closure/partial closure of Hammersmith Flyover between 23/12/2011 and summer 2012?

     * Transport for London
     * The Greater London Authority (including the Mayor's Office)

I would expect this to include correspondence from Council Officers as well as councillors.

Ealing Council have been in communication with TfL since the Hammersmith Flyover was closed due
to structure issues.  We have received regular update bulletins of which are attached.

Correspondence was received into the Network Management Team, Highways who then duly
informed all of the borough’s councillors through traffic bulletins.

The impact on Ealing roads has been negligible.  We have seen a slight increase in traffic on the A40,
which although is a TfL road, it runs through the Borough of Ealing.  There has also been a slight
increase in traffic close to where this borough meets Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow.
