ATVOD is the independent co-regulator for the editorial content of UK video on demand services.[1]

Advertising on video on demand services is regulated by the Advertising Standards Authority.[2]

OFCOM designated ATVOD to be the regulator for on demand programme services under S.368A of the Communications Act 2003, a provision added by The Audiovisual Media Services Regulations 2009.

The authority have a published openness and transparency statement saying: "We will endeavour to respond fairly to requests for information, having regard to the public interest in making such information available. "

ATVOD is not formally subject to FOI law, we list it on WhatDoTheyKnow due to its public regulatory role.
