XR Action at Alex Wood Hall
Dear Cambridge City Council,
I would like to request under the Freedom of Information act internal emails sent or received by councillors detailing the response by the council to the painting of Alex Wood Hall by Extinction Rebellion activists.
I am especially, although not exclusively, interested in correspondence that includes reference to the Climate and Ecological Emergency (CEE) Bill.
Please let me know if this request needs narrowing down or changing to protect councillors privacy.
Thanks for your help.
Yours faithfully,
Finlay Cox

Thank you for your request for information above, which we have dealt with
under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
I hope the following will answer your query:
The City Council holds very little information regarding this incident.
Correspondence between the members of the Labour group (party political
correspondence) does not come under FOI as the e-mails would not relate to
the functions of the Council.
I can confirm there has been communication between Cllr Mike Sargeant and
the officers within our Street Cleaning team. I can also confirm a site
visit has taken place with Cllr Sargeant to see the extent of the paint
spillage and to provide a quote to remove the paint from the building and
footway.
This quote has been accepted and officers are looking to carry out the
work in week commencing 14th June 2021.
We aim to provide a high quality service to you and hope that you are
satisfied with this response. If you have any further questions please do
not hesitate to contact us.
Yours sincerely
