Work Coach training materials for 13500 new staff as Covid response

The request was partially successful.

Alexander Valderhaug

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

DWP has announced its intention to recruit a further 13500 JCP staff, in response to the Coronavirus crisis.

Could you please provide the training materials that are being used to train new Work Coaches under this intention?

I am aware there have been previous FOIs for Work Coach training materials, but that these have been refused on grounds of costs in compiling and providing these.
However, given the present large scale recruitment I would expect these materials to be streamlined and readily available.

We are of course concerned that this large scale effort may frustrate the need for competent, well-trained Work Coaches, and are keen to see how this is being addressed.

Yours faithfully,

Alexander Valderhaug

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

To further my request, ref: FOI2020/52227, I have narrowed it:

Could you please provide the detailed training plan for the 32 days facilitated learning you mention in your previous response.
By plan I mean a list of training headings or modules, as I can presume you have structured to ensure the work coaches attain a certain degree of competency.
By detailed I mean containing a at least what you would normally expect from a table of contents, for example as found in DWP's Decision Makerss Guide (DMG) - i.e. containing both headings and subheadings.

If the 32 days facilitated learning is structured in some other manner, I ask that you provide a view of that structure, so that I may rephrase my request, or submit a wholly new one, if that is more appropriate.

Yours faithfully,

Alexander Valderhaug
