WMAS Siren Usage
Dear West Midlands Ambulance Service University NHS Foundation Trust,
In recent months I have observed many ambulances around the Erdington Hub and Sutton Coldfield area not using their sirens when attempting to navigate through traffic or approaching busy junctions. This occurs during all hours, including daylight, resulting in Ambulances being delayed en route.
In an attempt to understand this behaviour, could you please provide the following under the Freedom of Information Act:
1. Current WMAS policies and training documentation regarding usage of sirens and navigating through traffic during emergency responses.
2. Information on if and when the policies on siren usage were last changed in order to reduce noise, and the associated impact on response times.
Yours faithfully,
Marc Walker
Good morning
Please see the attached response to your recent request for information
under the Freedom of Information Act.
We have also attached a quick survey and we were wondering if we could
spare a few moments of your time to complete and return to either myself,
or the Head of Governance and Risk [1][email address] to help us
improve the service we currently provide.
Kind Regards
Lynsey Kumari
