Withdrawal of Liothyronine (T3) prescriptions by CCG

Dear NHS Birmingham and Solihull Clinical Commissioning Group,
Can you please confirm what clinical information you are using to back up claims that:
a) levothyroxine is safe in patients who have continuing hypothyroid symptoms?
b) liothyronine is not as effective as levothyroxine in patients who have continuing hypothyroid symptoms?
c) no more than a 3 month trial of liothyronine is sufficient to determine its effectiveness in patients with persistent hypothyroid symptoms?
