Gwrthodwyd y cais gan Bournemouth and Poole College.

Dear Bournemouth and Poole College,

I am requesting the following information under the Freedom of Information Act please:

1. A copy of the College's "Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy and Staff Safeguarding Handbook" (referred to in your Safeguarding Policy, but currently not available to the public since "available on the College intranet - mybpc" only).

2. Your safeguarding policy says on page 4 that the College will "require all staff to read and implement" the policies set out in documents, including the document mentioned in 1. above. Did the College ever supply that document to the Conductors of the Wessex Junior and Youth Fanfares, and of the Wessex Starter and Middle Strings (who to my knowledge did not have access to the College intranet), and if so on what dates?

3. Please provide a copy of the document(s) which set out the College's rules in force at the beginning of May 2017 with regard to whether staff are permitted to have College students visit their houses (or those of staff members' relatives) and if so, under what circumstances. (At a meeting on 10 May 2017, the Director of Learning, Creative Industries confirmed to the Conductor of Starter and Middle Strings that College staff were not allowed to hold rehearsals with students at staff members' homes. The Conductor asked whether it made any difference if the student was a private pupil of the member of staff, the Director replied that this made no difference and staff teaching College pupils privately at home was not permitted under College safeguarding rules).

4. Please provide a copy of the document(s) which set out the College's rules in force at the beginning of May 2017 with regard to whether staff are permitted to have College students as Facebook friends and if so, under what circumstances.

Yours faithfully,

Patrick Lee
