FoI request re Collection and Disposal of WEEE

Dear Ms McWilliams,

Thank you for your request for information relating to the collection and
Disposal of WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) and
Batteries. This was received on 28 June 2011 and has been dealt with
under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

We are now able to disclose the information requested in reply to your
questions below:

1. Date of the next tender for the “Collection and Disposal of
WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) and Batteries.

Our General waste contract has been tendered and will be awarded for 1st
October 2011. Next tender will be in 2014, or 2016, depending on whether
the option to extend 3 years contract to 5 years is taken up. This General
Waste contract has the option to utilize the contractor for collection and
disposal of WEEE.
Batteries are not covered by contract as we utilize the free service from
BatteryBack ltd
2. Also a copy of the previous successful tender for the collection and
disposal of WEEE.
Collection and disposal of WEEE has not been subject to tender because of
the value of this service as an independent service. Ad hoc collections
arranged as required and so no copy of a previous successful tender
available.

Please quote the above reference in any further communication on this
matter.

Yours sincerely
