Dear Forestry Commission,
Good morning, please can you provide me with details of all wayleave payments made to the forestry commission in the last 2 years.
Please note this is financial information and does not come under Environmental Information Regulations 2004.
Other authorities have complied with this request, see the link here where others have obliged
I would expect the FC to comply also.
Dear Mr Fitton
Thank you for your request for information regarding wayleave payments made to the Forestry Commission in the last 2 years.
The Freedom of Information Act and the Environmental Information Regulations, give access to information held by a public body ‘as is’ which means that there is no requirement to create information in order to answer a question, put the information into context or, indeed verify that the information is correct or complete.
In 2017 the Forestry Commission recorded wayleave income as part of a broader record of income incorporating wayleave payments, licence fees, miscellaneous agreements, rent income and sporting agreement income. This was recorded in our financial systems which are themselves designed for our own management needs, not to answer third party requests. Consequently I am unable to extract wayleave information from this figure, it is simply the recorded information held and identified with a marker for wayleave payments. In 2018 we changed the way in which we recorded wayleave income and so the figure below for 2018 records income from wayleave payments only.
2017 - £1,405,889.14 - Wayleave payments, licence fees, miscellaneous agreements, rent income and sporting agreement income
2018 - £134,772.05 - Wayleave income only
I have tried to deal with your request as fully as possible. If you have any questions then I would be happy to try and answer these for you. However, should you wish to complain about the way your request has been handled you may do so through the information I provided in my previous response to your request.
