Dear University of Bedfordshire,

would like to understand more about your WAN provision. Could you please advise me
Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, provide me with the following information:

Who is your current corporate Wide Area Network (WAN) provider/s?
How many sites do they cover?
What are the bandwidth of those sites?
What is the contract term?
What is the contract renewal date?
What is the contract value over the term?
What is your procurement route for your WAN, i.e. CCS?

Who is your current Education Wide Area Network (WAN) provider/s?
How many sites do they cover?
What are the bandwidth of those sites?

Would the council consider a Dark Fibre Core network for the corporate WAN ?
Would the council consider SDWAN solutions as an overlay service to their existing WAN connectivity and maybe undergo a proof of concept/pilot ?
Who is the Director or Head of ICT /IT/Networks responsible for the WAN refresh ?

Yours faithfully,

Dear Aaran,

I'm writing with regard to your FOI request.
Could you please clarify what you mean by the following questions:

Would the council consider a Dark Fibre Core network for the corporate WAN ?
Would the council consider SDWAN solutions as an overlay service to their existing WAN connectivity and maybe undergo a proof of concept/pilot ?

I am not sure that the question of what the council would consider is relevant to the University. Is that a typo, and are you asking whether we would consider it?

Please note that if we do not receive a response within 20 working days, we will consider your request closed.

Kind Regards
