Voting Regulation and Legitimacy
Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,
I have questions about the regulation and the legitimacy of the voting process which was used on the show Eurovision: You Decide 2019. Where the phone votes were legitimate, the online votes could easily be fraudulent. It was extremely easy to set up fake accounts in seconds to be able to cast votes in this process.
I would like to know:
1. What steps were taken to regulate and stop fraudulent votes?
2. What the split or numbers of online to phone votes were?
3. How many online votes were made with new accounts (created in the week leading up to the show) or inactive accounts (accounts that have not used other features on the BBC website)?
Yours faithfully,
Mr Goulden
