Dear FOI,

The final section of your response - the one page document outlining the research agreement - is now very delayed. It was due to be sent to me by March 26. Can you please send it on?

Dear FOI,

Hello, I wanted to check the status of this?

Yours sincerely,

Peter Geoghegan

Dear FOI,

The fulfilment of this request is now seriously delayed - under the terms of the FOI act consulting with a third party is not a justification for a late response but I was willing to allow this in good faith. But the completion of your response - the contract signed with the Von Opel foundation - is now very late and my last two requests for information have not been responded to. If there is not a response by COB tomorrow (Tuesday April 27) I will have to make an official complaint to the ICO.

Yours sincerely,

Peter Geoghegan

Dear Mr Geoghegan,

I attach the letter missing from our response of 12 March.

We have redacted personal information under section 40(2) of the Freedom
of Information Act. Section 40(2) provides an exemption from disclosure
for information that is the personal data of an individual other than the
requester, where disclosure would breach any of the data protection
principles in Article 5 of the GDPR. We consider that disclosure would
breach the first data protection principle, which requires that personal
data is processed lawfully, fairly and in a transparent manner. Disclosure
would be unfair to the individuals concerned, because it would be contrary
to their reasonable and legitimate expectations. They would not reasonably
expect that information about them would be made public under the FOIA
without their consent. Consequently, there would be no lawful basis to
disclose the information under Article 6.1(a) of the GDPR.

I apologise for the delay in sending you this. Since the beginning of the
year, the Information Compliance Team has experienced an increase in
demand in all areas of its work, which has had an adverse impact on our
ability to respond to requests within normal timeframes.

Yours sincerely
