Dear Mr Bolton,

Enquiry Ref: 12010/2020

I write in connection with your request for information dated 11th June 2020 and received by this office on 12th June 2020. Below are the questions raised in your request and our response.

Please provide a copy of any vehicle policies you hold, specifically those including the purpose and use of police vehicles.
a) We have made enquiries within the force and must advise you that Cleveland Police do not have such a policy so our response on this occasion must be no information held.

Please note any statistical data supplied in relation to Freedom of Information requests is a snapshot of data held at the time the request was received by the Freedom of Information office and is subject to constant change/updates.

The Cleveland Police response to your request is unique and it should be noted that Police Forces do not use generic systems or identical procedures to capture and record data therefore responses from Cleveland Police should not be used as a comparison with any other force response you receive.

If you are not satisfied with this response or any actions taken in dealing with your request you have the right to request an independent internal review of your case under our review procedure. The APP College of Policing guidance states that a request for internal review should be made within 20 working days of the date on this response or 40 working days if extenuating circumstances to account for the delay can be evidenced.

We have made every effort to ensure a response was provided within statutory deadlines, however due to current circumstances delays have been unavoidable. If your response was late we apologise for any inconvenience it may have caused. If we can be of any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact this office.

Yours sincerely,

Dear Cleveland Police,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Cleveland Police's handling of my FOI request 'Vehicle Policy'.

I do not believe that the force have no policies in relation to the use of police vehicles.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/v...

Yours faithfully,

Michael Bolton

Freedom of Information, Cleveland Police

Dear Mr Bolton,

I write in response to your e-mail dated 21st March 2021 requesting an Internal Review of the response we sent to you on 8th July 2020.

In the Cabinet Office FOI Code of Practice it states;

5.3 It is usual practice to accept a request for an internal review made within 40 working days from the date a public authority has issued an initial response to a request and this should be made clear in that response to the applicant. Public authorities are not obliged to accept internal reviews after this date. Internal review requests should be made in writing to a public authority.

Therefore we are unable to accept your request for an internal review on this occasion.

If we can be of assistance with any other matter please do not hesitate to contact this office.

Yours sincerely
