Dear Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency,

I believe in America there has been a massive recall of vehicles due to faulty and very dangerous air bags fitted to some 7 million vehicles, resulting in serious injury and it is believed deaths.. It is fair to assume that many of those vehicles are also in UK and yet I have seen no mention in any media, of recalls,or whether my vehicles are amongst those affected, Why is this and how do I know if my vehicles and indeed my family are safe? Why are we not being told?

Yours faithfully,

tony lowery

Dear Mr Lowery,

Thank you for your email to DVSA's Information Team.

With regard to your comments on the vehicle Secondary Restrain System
(airbags) recalls in the United States. I can inform you that there has
been similar recalls for vehicles in the United Kingdom.

Currently, those manufacturers who have vehicles suffering from this issue
are writing to the owners of all the affected vehicles. Therefore, if your
vehicle is affected, then you should receive a letter from the vehicle
manufacturer. Additionally, the information regarding these safety recalls
are available on the Dot.Gov website.

Should you wish to discuss this issue further, then please do not hesitate
to contact me on the number below.

Yours sincerely

Have received full response although a link to the particular item on Dot Gov would have been helpful.
However it did get me looking at the web site which I was not previously aware of and I found it extremely interesting and a means of further information on your vehicle and many other issues.
Thanks for response this is now closed.
