Dear Mr Burrows

Thank you for your email on 30 August 2018 concerning Speed settings on
the M1 J35 – J34 site address 4620B at 13:29 on 26 August 2018. The
information you have requested we make available to the public on a
regular basis.

Your request has been handled under normal business practices and not in
accordance with the Freedom of Information Act/Environmental Information
Regulations.

The following refers to settings for site 4620b on the specified date and
time requested:-

13:25 Temporary speed setting of 40mph activated due to automatic queue
detection systems as there was a high volume of traffic on the nearside
lane and also traffic slowing down on other lanes wanting to access the
nearside lane which becomes the exit to J34 (Meadowhall).

13:45 Temporary speed setting of 40mph was automatically changed to a
speed of 60mph as queues decreased in level.
