Dear Ms Eden,

Thank you for your FOI request dated 18 January 2020.  Please find our
responses below in bold.

 1. To see your policy followed by the communications team, for the
correct use of photographs of your employees for the purpose of news
and services provided, that are put onto Social Media Sites.

Individual members of staff must approve the use of any individual photo
for the specific purpose of use on social media otherwise they cannot be
used.

2. To include the date of commencement of this policy.

This has been custom and the practice at Cherwell District Council (CDC)
since the Council first set up its social media sites (Facebook, Twitter)
and particularly since 25 May 2018.

3. Please specify details of how permission is sought, and granted by
employee who is photographed.

Permission is sought when a photograph is first taken usually along with
the gathering of information for the specific news story that is being
constructed. Permission is sought afresh if the picture is to be used
again in future.

4. Please state the reason why the permission is not sought if this is the
case.

Permission is always sought.

I trust this answers your request.
