Dear East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust,

I would like to know if the service currently uses Methoxyflurane (Penthrox) and if so, what date was this introduced? What clinical staff grades (eg paramedic, IHCD technician) are able to administer this medication?

If it is not used, are there any plans to introduce this?

Yours faithfully,

L Davies

EEAST ran a trial of Penthrox at both of our HART bases and in Hertfordshire. The grades who were allowed to give Penthrox were both Paramedic and EMT.
The trail was a success, but a decision has been made not to continue with the trials
