Use of Ivermectin in the treatment of Covid
Dear Bolton NHS Foundation Trust,
The evidence for Ivermectin in the fight against covid has been compelling since early 2020 and by the end of 2020 had reached what most would consider "gold standard" with multiple studies, including randomized controlled trials, 100's of scientists and 1000's of patients.
At the time of writing there are 55 studies, over 20 of which were randomized controlled trials, 100's of scientists and over 10,000 patients have now taken part in studies .
Given that many have since died and Bolton continues to have issues, what has been done locally to review the evidence regarding Ivermectin and it's use in early and late stage treatment and what policies have been put in place? Please provide copies.
Given the pressures on ICU and people dying, have doctors been discussing this option with patients / their families?
Of those admitted to ICU in 2020 and 2021 with covid, how many went on to be treated with Ivermectin? Please provide a figure for 2020 and YTD for 2021.
Yours faithfully,
Dan Bayley
