The statue of Sekhemka, forming part of the collection of Northampton Museum was
sold at auction last year for £15,762,500. At the time of the sale, the leader of the
Borough Council stated that every penny from the sale was ring-fenced for the
Museums Service.
As it is now 2 years 10 months since the sale of that statue, please can
you provide an update on:
- How much is paid to third parties.
- How much of the proceeds has so far been spent /
- What do they account for.
- How much of the proceeds remain.
