Dear South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust,

On the 12th Feb 2021, your team stated in an FOI request (#725913 viewed at: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/d...) that "the Trust do not accept [QA Level 5 Diploma in First Response Emergency and Urgent Care] as we cannot assure the educational governance around it, we have never been assured of a robust and standardised approach regarding the educational delivery and quality across the many providers".

Today (3rd November 2021), SCAS have begun to allow private providers to up-skill staff with this qualification to technician level.

1. Please can you provide all operational documents, policies, memos, historical meeting dates and e-mails which document the trust's change of heart with regards to this.

2. Please can you tell me who (or which role or team, if GDPR doesn't allow) is responsible for allowing changes such as this to be implemented.

3. Is there a 'blacklist' of training organizations for which FREUC 5 would not be accepted from? Similarly, is there a 'whitelist' of training organizations which the qualification is only allowed from?

4. Can you provide information regarding the quality assurance processes for this qualification to now be accepted, when there were previously concerns around the quality assurance and robustness of assessment?

Yours faithfully,

Bob Smith
