Unvaccinated School Children
Dear Sir or Madam,
In light of the recent proposal to bar children who have not received the MMR vaccination from state schools: What percentage of children in Birmingham state funded schools are not known to have been vaccinated against measles, mumps and rubella (whether as a single MMR jab or as the three separate vaccinations) and to be up to date on boosters where appropriate? What percentage of staff working in schools are not known to have received and be up to date with the same vaccinations? If possible please provide the information broken down by constituency and ward (of the schools) and age/school year of children, but if it is not available at that level of detail what ever level of detail you have will be fine. No details that could be used to identify any child or employee or of their general medical history is required so data protection and similar legislation should not apply.
Preferred format of the information is electronic in a spreadsheet that can be opened in Excel 2003.
Yours faithfully,
Stephen Booth

Re Use of Public Sector Information
Where Birmingham City Council is the copyright holder of any information
that may be released, re-use for personal, educational or non-commercial
purposes is permitted without further reference to the City Council. Where
the re-use is for other purposes, such as commercial re-use, the applicant
should notify the City Council in writing to seek approval or agree terms
for re-use.
Dear Mr Booth
I am writing in respect of your recent enquiry for information held by the
Authority under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 2000
regarding MMR vaccinations. Birmingham City Council does not currently
maintain records regarding vaccination of pupils. I am advised that you
would need to contact the Health Service to ascertain this type of
information.
If you are not satisfied with the response you may ask for an internal
review. If subsequently you are not satisfied with the Council’s decision
you may apply to the Information Commissioner for a decision. Generally,
the ICO cannot make a decision unless you have exhausted the complaints
procedure provided by the Council. The Information Commissioner can be
contacted at the following address:

however, it may be re-used for personal, educational or non-commercial

Birmingham City Council does not hold the copyright, it has indicated the
copyright holder. Permission for re-use should be sought from them

Dear Sir or Madam,
thank you for your response. Could you please clarify what you mean by 'The Health Service'? As you are no doubt aware there are a number of bodies that fall under that term.
Yours sincerely,
Stephen Booth
Dear Mr Booth
I do not know specifically who would hold the data within the health
sector. We do not collect or hold the data ourselves, either for our own
purposes or to supply to others, so would not be aware of which specific
service provider may or may not hold the data.
Yours sincerely,
Steve Cullen

Gadawodd Mr Clarke anodiad ()
Stephen, in my experience the NHS functions as a monolithic ideologically-oligarchic dinosaur until such time as you try to complain or ask questions at which it instantly fragments into more metastatising HOBTPCTs and BSMHFTs and SWBHTPCTs than you can ever keep up with.
As for the safety of MMR, I am no enthusiast for the medical establishment (as made plain in at least 4 other requests here), but the international data of the autism increase is well out of line with the MMR usage, and I have not yet seen any compelling evidence that mmr has caused any autism (though it could cause some).
But meanwhile, as Dr Wakefield has pointed out, no-one should have mumps vaccine anyway, it is a total quackery, was rejected for decades as not a good idea (till profits triumphed over honesty). It transforms a trivial childhood infection into a very serious adult infection. It follows that at most one should only have the measles and rubella, and probably not them either given what a scam (pretending to be "evidence-based") the whole field has become.
