Unlicensed Taxis
Dear Cambridge City Council,
Under the Freedom of Information Act I would like to request the following information:
How many instances of taxi drivers taking on the spot/hailed passengers without a hackney carriage licence or with a licence from an authority other than Cambridge City Council occurred in 2017 and 2018.
If possible, please distinguish those without licences and those with licences from invalid authorities.
Yours faithfully,
Finlay Cox
Dear Cambridge City Council,
I am writing to follow-up on a freedom of information request about 'Unlicensed Taxis' (https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/u...). The council should by law have responded promptly, no later that 19/03/2019, which has not happened.
If you require further information from me, or if you don't have the information requested, please let me know as soon as possible, and advise me on if/how I can receive this information.
Yours faithfully,
Finlay Cox
Dear Finlay,
I’m very sorry about this. Looking back on our case management system I
can see that an officer replied to your request on the 20^th February with
the following:
From the 1st January 2017 to the 31st December 2018 there are 7 recorded
instances where a Hackney Carriage Driver or Private Hire Driver had been
witnessed by enforcement officers of Cambridge City Council for plying for
hire without a hackney carriage proprietor's licence issued by Cambridge
City Council. 6 of the 7 drivers in question were licensed with South
Cambridgeshire District Council with the other licensed by Wolverhampton
City Council.
However, I do note that your applicant details say your email address is
“[1][email address]” rather than “Request…etc”.
I can only assume that an error copy-pasting was made when logging the
case and thus our reply didn’t make it to you.
Apologies again for the delay. Do let me know if there’s anything else I
can help with.
Sincerely,
Sid Ryan
Information Management Officer
