Dear London School of Economics,
I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request the following information:
Records on undergraduate student drop out rates from 1997-present date, including what courses the relevant students were on, what year of study they were in when they officially dropped out, the date they ceased studies, their age and their gender. I would also request information regarding the level of maintenance loan they were receiving during their studies, as well as any additional relevant bursaries, grants or other financial support.
Please provide the information in the form of an excel spreadsheet.
If it is not possible to provide the information requested due to the information exceeding the cost of compliance limits identified in Section 12, please provide advice and assistance, under the Section 16 obligations of the Act, as to how I can refine my request.
If you can identify any ways that my request could be refined I would be grateful for any further advice and assistance.
If you have any queries please don’t hesitate to contact me via email or phone and I will be very happy to clarify what I am asking for and discuss the request, my details are outlined below.
Thank you for your time and I look forward to your response.
With reference to your request for information under the Freedom of Information Act, please find below the School's response.
All of the information you have requested bar the financial support information is available via HESA, https://www.hesa.ac.uk/. As such, it is exempt under Section 21 of the Freedom of Information Act, as the information is already available.
Regarding the financial support information, we could not provide a response within the cost limit set in Section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act. Our Financial Support Office has suggested that they could provide data from 2012-2019. Please let me know if you would like that data.
