Dear Jonathan,

Further to your recent FoI request, the Schools response is provided in
the attached spreadsheets:

Q1) The number of applicants (see spreadsheet FOI 3446 1-3)

Q2) The number of conditional and unconditional offers made (see
spreadsheet FOI 3446 1-3)

Q3) The number of offers made based on A-levels (see spreadsheet FOI 3446
1-3)

Q4) The mean number of A*s, As and Bs achieved in A-level. With regards to
this question (and question 6) we have not provided averages but the raw
counts of A*s, As and Bs achieved at A level and GCSE for offer holders on
those programmes.

In instances where students offered less than 3 A levels this has been
included in the data so it is your choice to include or exclude them - it
may be that students have offered a mixed qualification or only submitted
1 or 2 A levels.

Q5) The number of applicants who had Further Mathematics as a fourth
A-level (Unfortunately, we do not store data on the whether an A level is
a fourth subject. We have been able to count the number of applicants who
offered further maths when they were offering a minimum of four A levels
which is 289 in the most recent cycle for all applicants for those
programmes.

Q6) The mean number of A*s, As and Bs achieved in GCSEs. (see notes to
Question 4 above).

If you think that the information provided does not meet your request,
contact Rachael Maguire on 020 7849 4622 or write to Louise Nadal, School
Secretary, London School of Economics and Political Science, Houghton
Street, London, WC2A 2AE. We will then review the response to your request
and get back to you within 20 working days. You can also contact the
Information Commissioner's Office [1]http://www.ico.gov.uk/, though they
expect the internal review to be carried out before receiving a complaint
directly.
