Unabbreviated accounts for the past 5 years

The request was partially successful.

Dear Stroud District Council,

Please could I have copies of the audited, unabbreviated accounts for Stroud District Council, for the last five years.

For clarity, the accounts provided online (https://www.stroud.gov.uk/council-and-de...) are abbreviated and so not sufficient for this request.

Yours faithfully,

Seb Bacon

Dear Stroud District Council,

To clarify, unaudited but signed off unabbreviated accounts are also acceptable.

Yours faithfully,

Seb Bacon

Stroud District Council

Mr Bacon, thank you for your request for information below, followed by
the response.

Please could I have copies of the audited, unabbreviated accounts for
Stroud District Council, for the last five years.

For clarity, the accounts provided online
(https://www.stroud.gov.uk/council-and-de...)
are abbreviated and so not sufficient for this request.

To clarify, unaudited but signed off unabbreviated accounts are also
acceptable.

The reports at the link provided
([1]https://www.stroud.gov.uk/council-and-de...)
are not abbreviated accounts as suggested.

These reports are Stroud District Council's full Statements of Accounts,
completed in compliance with the "Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015".

Stroud District Council does not produce abbreviated accounts and would
not fall under the remit of producing accounts in this way as it is a
local authority.

Dear Stroud District Council,

Thank you for your answer to my request.

I'm evidently not using the correct terminology for the accounts I require. If I explain the motivation a bit more, then perhaps that will clarify my request?

I am a member of a group called Stroud Investigates. We are interested in transparency in local civic society. You will be aware of the recent errors in financial reporting that found their way into the Sub Rooms review process. It would be beneficial for residents of Stroud District to be able to help identify problems like this in the future. However, the errors identified in the review data could not have been found by a member of the public using only information currently in the public domain.

Therefore, this request is for accounts in the format that would include data sufficient for a citizen audit of similar figures in the future (i.e. not just about the Sub Rooms but other assets and/or nominal accounts). Specifically, I imagine this would include expense, asset and liability accounts, at least in high-level categories.

So my modified request is (1) to know the correct terminology for such accounts; (2) for the last 5 years of such accounts.

Yours faithfully,

Seb Bacon
