Twins Trust is undertaking a national multiple pregnancy bench-marking exercise.

Roedd y cais yn llwyddiannus.

Dear Grampian NHS Board,

Twins Trust is undertaking a national multiple pregnancy bench-marking exercise. As part of this, I would like to request information relating to the multiple pregnancies cared for at hospitals in NHS Grampian
The unit level data requested is for the following categories:
- Number of Multiple Birth Pregnancies (e.g. twins, triplets, quads +)
- Number of Foetuses delivered from a Multiple Birth
- Multiple Birth Still Births (number of babies)
- Multiple Birth pregnancies resulting in an Emergency C-Sections
- Multiple Birth Neonatal Deaths (number of babies)
- Multiple Birth Neonatal Admissions (number of babies admitted to a neonatal unit for their care) For each of the following years 2017, 2018 and 2019.
Please also confirm if current antenatal care for multiple pregnancies (in 2020 and going forward) is delivered by a "a core team of named specialist obstetricians, specialist midwives and sonographers, all of whom have experience and knowledge of managing twin and triplet pregnancies" in accordance with NICE guideline NG137.
Finally, how many perinatal mortality reviews involving multiple births have been conducted since 2018 and what changes have been made as a result of them?
As a background for your team, we have a quality improvement team who work with maternity teams across the UK caring for multiple birth families https://twinstrust.org/healthcare-profes... and have a wide range of classes, resources and services to support multiple birth families https://twinstrust.org/let-us-help.html
With thanks to your whole team for all they do for our families and if we can be of any assistance please do let us know.
Yours faithfully,

Helen Peck
