TV licence evasion convictions in Scotland
Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,
I received a threatening letter which states in a big red bold circle that there is a 99% conviction rate for TV licence evaders (although on further inspection with a magnifying glass your small print that this figure only applies to cases that went to court and only applies to England and Wales).
Therefore, since I don’t live in either England or Wales, and since you don’t publish any figures for convictions under Scots Law, I submit to you this Freedom of Information request.
Can you kindly tell me (since 1.1.2016 until now):
1) How many reports have you submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in Scotland and;
2) How many people have been successfully prosecuted for evading a TV Licence in Scotland
Yours faithfully,
Mr T. Wotcher
