Dear Valuation Tribunal Service,

Could you please send me the tribunal decision in respect of 2 Parkway Gardens, Welwyn Garden City, AL8 6JW.

According to the Valuation Office Agency website, the banding was amended from E to D and they show Court Code "V" meaning that there was a Valuation Tribunal decision to reduce the banding.

However for some reason this particular decision cannot be found on your website? I can find lots of other appeal decisions but not this one.

We have received your request for information under the Freedom of Information Act.

I have checked our database of appeals data that goes back to 1999. We received one appeal on the property you refer to, on
4 October 2001. This appeal was listed for a hearing on 10 December 2001 but was withdrawn before the hearing (on 29 November). There was therefore no Tribunal decision on this appeal. This suggests that the 'V' code may have been misapplied by the Valuation Office Agency, unless there had been an earlier decision. I am sorry that I cannot confirm whether that was the case, however it seems unlikely as a subsequent appeal on the same issues would probably have been rejected as invalid.

By law we have to retain decision records for six years, though in practice we hold council tax decisions longer, as there has not been a revaluation. Unfortunately we do not hold them back to 1993, when council tax began.
