Dear High Speed Two (HS2) Limited,

I am writing to you under the Environmental Information Regulations 2004 with regard to the oak tree that was felled by HS2 Ltd., on Friday 13th November 2020, just off King’s Lane in The Lee, Buckinghamshire, HP22 6PT.

Please note this request has several parts.

I am requesting the following information:

1) Any and all internal correspondence and communication (redacted where necessary) between January 1st 2020 to the day this request is processed relating to: (a) the felling of the tree on King’s Lane; (b) valuation and potential sale of the timber that has been produced following the felling.
2) Please indicate under which section of the HS2 Hybrid Bill (or any other applicable bill or contract) tree felling on temporary held land not intended for HS2 railway construction is legislated for.
3) Documentation outlining any plans for a haul road between King’s Lane and the A413, illustrating any further planned tree felling.

Please provide the information electronically, ideally in the form of PDF documents.

In accordance with Regulation 9 please can you provide any advice and assistance that may help my request to be more effective? In any case if my request is too general please provide advice and assistance as to how it can be refined.

I look forward to your response within 20 working days, as stipulated by Regulation 5.

FOI-20-3895 – Extension of time required 

I am writing to advise you that the time limit for responding to your
request for information under the Environmental Information Regulations
2004, received on 15 November 2020, needs to be extended. 

The EIR Regulations stipulate that we should respond to a request within
20 working days. However, having reviewed your request, we have decided to
extend the time limit in accordance with regulation 7(1). 

Regulation 7(1) provides that where a request is made under Regulation 5,
the public authority may extend the period of 20 working days, to 40
working days, if there is reasonable belief that the request might be
complex and voluminous. 

We are aiming to provide a response to you by 14 January 2021. We will, of
course, endeavour to get a response to you sooner, if it is practicable to
do so. 

Right to Review 

If you are unhappy with the way we have handled your request or with the
decisions made in relation to your request, you may complain in writing to
HS2 Ltd. Please find below details of HS2 Ltd’s complaints procedure which
