Treatment Delays

Waiting for an internal review by Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust of their handling of this request.

Dear Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust,

I would like to know how many patients had their cancer treatments delayed between 1st March 2020 to present. I would like this broken down by treatment type, Specialty cancer, and how long they were delayed by.

I would also like to know how many 2 week wait patients had to wait longer than the designated 14 days for their first appointment from the referral date.

Yours faithfully,

Jacqui Smith

Dear Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust's handling of my FOI request 'Treatment Delays'.

I am not happy with the response provided.

In your response you state that:

Response – Pennine Acute Hospitals Trust

1. I would like to know how many patients had their cancer treatments delayed between
1st March 2020 to present. I would like this broken down by treatment type, Specialty
cancer, and how long they were delayed by.

The Trust confirms that it holds the information requested under Section 1 of
the Freedom of Information Act, however, due to the way that it is recorded, a
manual review of all patient referrals would be required to obtain the requested
data. This is expected to exceed the time expectations of the Freedom of
Information Act. The Trust therefore cites section 12(1) and is unable to
provide a response to Question 1.

I do not believe this is accurate, and if this is too difficult then ill accept the number as a whole rather than broken down, as this is something that you should be able to run off a system report via Somerset ect.

you also responded with this:
In line with Section 16 of the Freedom of Information Act, Cancer waiting time
data is published on the NHS England website which can be accessed here:

https://www.england.nhs.uk/statistics/st...
times/monthly-prov-cwt/

I am fully aware of the cancer waiting times, however what i want to know is how many have been delayed since March 2020, the start of covid.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/t...

Yours faithfully,

Jacqui Smith
