I write in connection with your request for information dated 10th February 2019 and received by this office on 11th February 2019. Below is the content of your request and the information we have been able to retrieve for you.

Please can you supply the below in relation to Travel Warrants issued by your force custody's.
2018 & 2019 to date.

Can this be broken down per custody suite, detail the date of issue, origin, destination, reason for issue (within limitation), cost to the force and if this was issued for a person following release from custody or if custody issued the warrant for another reason.

a) We have made enquiries with our finance department and have been advised that if held this information would not be in an easily retrievable format as due to the nature of our recording systems. Our information retrieval process generally relies on a computer run report which captures any information recorded upon the surface of a record such as the name of the person issued with the travel warrant or the organisation authorising its issue (if applicable). However we have also contacted the custody suites and Middlesbrough have advised that on checking the custody float and there is one entry regarding a train fare for £14.50 in October 2018, but no other details of why or where to are recorded.

The Cleveland Police response to your request is unique and it should be noted that Police Forces do not use generic systems or identical procedures to capture and record data therefore responses from Cleveland Police should not be used as a comparison with any other force response you receive.

If you are not satisfied with this response or any actions taken in dealing with your request you have the right to request an independent internal review of your case under our review procedure. The APP College of Policing guidance states that a request for internal review should be made within 20 working days of the date on this response or 40 working days if extenuating circumstances to account for the delay can be evidenced.

If I can be of any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact this office on any of the below numbers.
