Transgender prisoners

HM Chief Inspector of Prisons did not have the information requested.

Dear Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Prisons,

I would like figures for the last three years i.e. 2019, 2020, 2021 of the following.

The number of male prisoners, currently self identifying as female that have requested transfer to a female prison.

The number of female prisoners, currently self identifying as male that have requested transfer to a male prison.

Yours faithfully,
David Mackenzie

Dear Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Prisons,

Further to my request dated 13th December 2021 on the subject of transgender prisoners I am reminding you that you have not replied within the lawfully designated timescale.

You have not given a reason for your delay - should I take your lack of communication to mean that you are refusing to answer the question put to you? If this is the case then I would be obliged to know exactly on what grounds.

Yours faithfully,

Mackenzie Briggs
